Today I'm supposed to write about my work for a press release... Instead, I found my tongue lodged in a pencil sharper...
When the concept of Los Picos came to my thought process, it was merely introspective.. I had a difficult time naming the piece because it was so personal. I thought about naming it "the Cassandra syndrome" or "For the Givers and Takers" I don't really know if anyone could truly understand.... However, you can interpret it how you choose...
What art does; is teach us compassion that can only be explained in the most esoteric vocabulary.
I have about 11 hours until I'm helping with my sons school art show. All I can say is that it's pretty swank! The evenings events went down as follows.
Bonnie picked me up at my house and I dried my wet semi stained sweater in her car heading into horrid Seattle traffic, we were late for the lecture but engaging just the same. Upon arrival, I noticed I was tragically overdressed for the occasion and stumbled around in heels through the evening, feasting on Red Vines and Champagne... aaaah... An Artist's life!
As expected the conversation always enjoyable!
Left to pick up some food downtown Edmonds and had a fantastic time rambling to Bonnie about art. I'm home and out of the heel's still in the little black dress, and have a fantastic piece of jewelry as a souvenir from the event.... Yes folk's it doesn't get much better than this.... A charmed life for sure!!
Hello all... Tonight is 3X2 opening and as usual, I'm nervous! I'm hoping we have a large crowd-but if too large, I might be hiding in a corner. So disappointed, had a crocheted dress picked out for the occasion that matched the Keyhole Limpet necklace. It's cold an raining so I don't think I'll wear it now :( Currently digging in the depths of my closet to come up with my plan B.
Hope to see a familiar face there... Eddie will not be attending...
